IAM accreditation programme

PrintE-mail

IAM Drive and Survive is involved in an accreditation scheme that assesses an organisation's in-house processes or training. If it is deemed of a high enough standard to be recognised by the IAM – it is accredited accordingly.

With IAM Drive & Survive accreditation comes the right to use the IAM logo on company paperwork or with an organisation's own logos. This support from the UK's premier independent road safety charity, demonstrates a clear commitment to safer driving and a reduction in incidents and accidents.

Benefits
  • Adds credibility to an organisation and helps attract high calibre driving staff
  • Is recognised by competitors and clients as investing in staff, further demonstrating commitment and professionalism
  • Demonstrates a genuine commitment to road safety
  • Supports a recognised road safety charity
  • Demonstrates to the community and investors that safer driving is taken seriously
  • Shows that policies and procedures are above standard
  • Helps to achieve further awards within the community and/or industry

About the accreditation programme

Accreditation is available at three levels:
  1. Course / process
  2. Training centre
  3. Entire company

Course / process

IAM Drive & Survive has a recognised standards matrix that can be applied to any course an organisation offers either internally or externally. It demonstrates that the course content has met a specific level and was delivered by a credible, experienced and qualified instructor/coach.

The organisation's training course delivery process would be audited, identifying that key criteria have been met in selecting the correct training to meet the needs of the individuals. This would also help to ensure individuals achieve specific targets.

Training centre

If an organisation has their own in house training / risk assessment programme or employs assessors, IAM Drive & Survive can audit the services being offered. Again, this is assessed against specific standards that need to be achieved in order to pass and gain IAM Drive & Survive accreditation.

Entire company

IAM Drive & Survive can also audit several elements of an organisation. This usually includes discussions with the senior team, directors, and key stakeholders to understand their views and attitudes of occupational road risk. Selected staff would be interviewed to understand their roles and responsibilities as well as gauging their commitment to working towards a safer driving environment.

Training centres (if applicable) and processes would be taken into consideration when auditing an organisation, as would relevant and driving related policies, procedures and ongoing commitments.

A credible and reliable accreditation programme

Our accreditation programme is taken very seriously. IAM Drive & Survive have worked very hard to gain our reputation as one of the industry leaders and work even harder to ensure accreditation programmes demonstrate this. It is not a fast route to compliance or a 'quick fix' to meeting H&S obligations – it is a quantifiable commitment to road and driver safety.
